Editing Services

I offer a wide array of editing services for your manuscript to prepare your manuscript for publishing. The majority of my editing experience has been with self-published authors and a few select traditional publishers. No matter what package you choose, please know that as an editor, I put myself in the readers’ shoes and make sure the manuscript provides them the information they may want and in an order that makes the most sense.

I am proficient in Chicago Manual of Style (CMoS), and my turnaround time varies on the length of your manuscript and my availability. I plan for approximately a month turnaround, depending on the length of your manuscript. All editing packages include an author letter that details the types of edits I made. (I also have proficiency in AP Style and Christian Writer's Manual of Style [CWMoS].)

Development Editing

A development, or a substantive edit, goes the deepest. This package looks at the big picture and the overall organization, tone, and content of your manuscript, in order to clarify any vagueness and uncertainty. The fee for this service is 2 cents per word. Learn more.

Copyediting

In this package, I address surface-level edits, such as sentence construction, flow, and semantics, as well as grammar, spelling, and punctuation. The fee is 1.5 cents per word. Learn more.

Editorial Evaluation

If you want a quick snapshot of your project and its progress, I offer an Editorial Evaluation service where I give a thorough edit to approximately twelves pages of text (including the table of contents) and provide about a page of general feedback about content, organization, tone, and other significant elements.
